Liana Maria Daher è professore associato di Sociologia generale presso il Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione dell’Università degli Studi di Catania. I suoi interessi di ricerca si sono da sempre situati principalmente nell’ambito dei comportamenti collettivi e dei movimenti sociali, approfondito sia da un punto di vista teorico che metodologico. Più di recente si è accostata ai temi dell’immigrazione e del multiculturalismo, focalizzandosi sulle problematiche relative alle seconde generazioni di immigrati. Ha preso parte, sia come referente scientifico che come membro, a diversi progetti di ricerca nazionali e internazionali. È Presidente del RC48 (Social Movements, Collective Action and Social Change) dell’Associazione Internazionale di Sociologia (ISA) e membro della RN25 (Social Movements) dell’Associazione Europea di Sociologia (ESA). È membro del comitato scientifico della rivista «Sicurezza e Scienze sociali», edita da Franco Angeli (Milano). Dirige il Laboratorio di ricerca sui Fenomeni Sociali e Interculturali (ISOLA) e il Laboratorio di analisi dei fenomeni collettivi presso il Dipartimento di Scienze della Formazione ed è membro del Laposs (Laboratorio di Progettazione Sperimentazione ed Analisi di Politiche Pubbliche e Servizi alle Persone) dell’Università di Catania. Fra le sue pubblicazioni: From Memory to Legacies. Cultural Outcomes, Success and Failures of the Feminism Movement in Sicily (Routledge 2013), Second Generation Immigrants on the Borders: A Bridge Generation between two Leisure World (Cambridge Scholars Publishing 2013), Fare ricerca sui movimenti sociali in Italia: passato, presente e futuro (FrancoAngeli 2012), “Migranti” di seconda generazione. Liana Maria Daher is Associate Professor in Sociology, Department of Education, University of Catania. Her main field of research are social movements and collective behavior. She also works on migration, exploring migrant children, young issues, and multicultural citizenship. She has taken part, both as principal investigator and member, to several national and International research projects. She is President of the RC48 (Social Movements, Collective Action and Social Change) of the International Sociological Association (ISA) and member of RN25 (Social Movements) of the European Sociological Association (ESA). She is member of the scientific commitee of the «Sicurezza e Scienze sociali» Journal, edited by FrancoAngeli (Milan). She is Director of the Intercultural Sociological Laboratory – ISOLA, and the Collective Action LAB, Department of Education, University of Catania, and member of the Laposs (Laboratory of Experimental Design and Analysis of Public Policies and Services to the Person) of the University of Catania. She has authored numerous books, book chapters and articles on Italian and international journals. The relevant topics of her publications are: women’ movements and youth’ collective actions; migrants’ second generation, citizenship, and separated children.
