These proceedings cover the theory of generalized special functions and their use in different branches of pure and applied mathematics and physics.This is a first attempt of developing an organic point of view on generalized forms of Bessel functions, Hermite, Laguerre, Legendre… polynomials and on the impact they may have on problems including the theory of approximation, quantum mechanics, classical electromagnetism, synchrotron radiation, crystallography, etc..
The book contains further topics of noticeable interest and contiguous to the generalized special functions. It includes elements of fractional integro–differential calculus, the theory of Lagrange expansion and related topics as the theory of mixed generating functions and of the absolutely monotonic functions.Writings of P.L.
