SINTESI
The drafting of normative documents in a multilingual setting presents legal translators with complex problems of a terminological and semantic nature that emanate from the inevitable differences between different legal systems. To overcome such difficulties, some scholars have suggested that new translation strategies are necessary. This study therefore examines the hypothesis that legal terms be treated as if they were proper names for the purpose of their translation and analyses the utility of applying translation strategies for proper names to legal translation. The book is aimed at translators and scholars of legal translation.
