Basic Surgical Techniques Handbook

This manual was created thanks to the experience developed in the last 12 years with the “Basic Surgical Techniques Course” of University of East Piedmont, which was held in the laboratory of Physiology/Experimental Surgery and organized by SISM, Segretariato Italiano Studenti in Medicina. The handbook illustrates with short descriptions and pictures some of the surgical instruments that are useful for the basic practice in surgery. Furthermore, it explains step by step the execution of some basic techniques: lesion exeresis, simple and intradermic suture, vessel ligature and insulation, shifting flaps, drain placement.
