Vescico-uretral dysfunction is a major problem in daily medical practice, particularly “neurogenic overactive bladder" in which it is documentable a clear neurological disease. When neurogenic dysfunction leads to urinary incontinence it is source of discomfort and it is associated with psychological disturbances, social costs and high impact in quality of life. The aim of this monography is to provide an overview of methods of functional neurosurgery available today for treatment of neurogenic overactive bladder. Particular attention is given to ablative techniques, neurostimulation techniques and mixed neurostimulation/ablation techniques. To make the work more effective on the didactic level are also discussed the pathophysiology of neurogenic overactive bladder and its medical and surgical treatment.
