SINTESI
The progressive development of medical sciences and biotechnologies determined the need for norms aimed at regulating the human activities in this field. This corpus of norms is called “Bio Law” and often implies bioethical choices. The study is aimed at investigating in particular the norms related to the use and storage of human tissues for research. They can be found at the international level, the European level and the national level. In the light of the aforementioned legal frameworks, issues such as those related to the legal nature of human tissues, their use for research, the need for a consent by the interested person, their storage in biobanks are investigated. Furthermore, as the field of biomedicine often involves choices on ethics, in so far as it affects important human values, the use of human tissues for research is examined taking into account the related relevant bioethical guidelines.
