Testing English Basics addresses basic general English skills for beginner, false-beginner and pre-intermediate level students and more precisely at the Common European Framework of Reference Level A1 to B1. The test booklet is directed towards those who wish to self-assess their basic knowledge of General English language proficiency. It is strongly recommended for students enrolled in firts year University programmes who have to: take an entry test; follow a preparatory course before entering the official English course within a three-year degree program (in particular in non-linguistic fields of study); take the final written exam for the General English course within a Three-year Degree program. It is also recommended for students in secondary school and/or middle school who would like to self-assess their elementary language knowledge acquired thourghout their school years of perhaps use it during the summer vacation as a review mechanism in preparation for the following school year. In addition, it functions as a valuable tool for those who are taking initial steps towards the preparation of external certification.
