SINTESI
The volume examines eye tracking within the context of audiovisual translation (AVT), paying particular attention to subtitling. It brings together a number of orienting papers which provide the background for the subsequent chapters that focus specifically on eye–tracking–based findings regarding the viewing behaviour of AVT users. Chapters on topics ranging from multimodality to subtitling, eye movement in reading to accessibility and usability provide sound background knowledge leading to eye–tracking–based approaches to the study of various aspects of picture reception, and to the reception of regular and experimental subtitles (and entitles). This book intends to provide a reference volume for experienced researchers and newcomers to this field by presenting new findings from empirical research.
