From its very beginning, the aim of this volume was to present a survey, which of course can only be partial (in both senses of this term), on recent trends in partial differential equations, and, more specifically, on frameworks recently developed to define convenient notions of solutions for non classical elliptic and parabolic problems. This includes in particular the case of entropy and renormalized solutions for linear and non linear equations in divergence form and right-hand side a Radon measure, as well as the case of viscosity solutions for fully non linear equations. Various grafts were then inserted into those main branches, so that the result is considerably more developed that the one initially planned.
