SINTESI
The dialogue between the traditions of phenomenology and hermeneutic philosophy represents a crucial point of reference in the philosophical landscape of the 20th century as regards problems of knowledge, reality, and experience. If for phenomenology the clarification of the manifold modes of human experience and awareness of reality finds a line of focus in the elaboration of the notion of “intuition,” hermeneutic philosophy centers on the priority of “understanding” as primary mode of access to the world. The present issue of Trópos explores the themes of “intuition” and “understanding” within the conceptual framework opened up by the two influential philosophical traditions of the last century.
