Kubrat, the young Bulgarian ruler, arrived together with his uncle in Constantinople to seek help for his state and to study in the famous high school of the capital of the Roman Empire. Unfortunately, the young ruler was soon involved in intrigues and accused for the murder of a high officer. His life was in great danger, but the two beautiful nieces of the emperor were trying to help him. One of them just liked him very much, while the second wanted to win a friend for the empire, attacked by powerful enemies at that time. The fight for saving Kubrat was very long and extremely difficult. Many other people, including Heraclius, the emperor, were in a great danger during the efforts to save the innocent young man.
