Heritage and Ideology. Monumental Restoration and Francoist Sites of Memory
The architectonic restoration of the first Francoism used heritage in a propagandistic way. The ideology of the new State revisited the Spanish history and its monumental landscape, creating sites of memory of the new regime. Those monuments bear even today that strong ideologic burden which determines their reading and reception by nowadays society.
