HISTORICAL REVIEW OF THE MINING LANDSCAPE, IN THE CITY OF GUANAJUATO, MEXICO

The reflections presented below are intended to provide a general vision around the concept of landscape and in a particular way to the link of this construct with the evolutionary and social processes (both material and subjective) that have manifested in the heritage city of the humanity Guanajuato, Guanajuato Mexico, from its foundation in the 16th century to the present day.Before starting, it will be necessary to remember that the task of interpreting and reconstructing urban history has been disputed mainly by architecture, urban planning and geography, therefore, in this text a panoramic literary review is carried out around the definition and evolution of the concept of landscape, with which an attempt is made to put into dialogue the existing conceptual and methodological richness around this phenomenon. Within this work, it will be crucial to refer to time, or also called the temporal dimension, which is intrinsically related to the concept of Landscape and which will be fundamental to reconstruct, diagnose and unveil the pending agenda around the cultural landscape of Mexican heritage cities.By means of a longitudinal investigation, focused on the selected case study, a comprehensive methodological approach proposal is made that is based on a qualitative investigation consisting of three techniques: observation, direct observation, and documentary and content analysis.Keywords: Urban History, Historical Landscapes, Urbanization Process.
