Sovereign democracy represents the Russian Idea within the 21st century. Its frames are composed by the doctrine of the foreign neighbour and the Eurasian Union as milestones of the new Russian geopolitics. Russian geopolitical thought tends to formulate a parallel Russian “Monroe” doctrine in post-Soviet space. Post-soviet area, indeed, is now in the middle of a geopolitical and geo-economic competition between Russia and the West. All Russian geopolitics must be considered through the perspective of a “New Great Game”.
