The chapter aims to analyze the renovation of an old market dedicated to the sale of fish in a manufacturing neighborhood in the southern part of the City of Buenos Aires. At present, a design and innovation center, created and managed by the local government, operates in the reconditioned market structure. These types of actions are framed in the context of the “Creative or Economic Districts” policy implemented in different areas of the city, especially in the southern zone. The transformations that took place both in the market and in the neighborhood had as a point of contact the appeal for the recovery of its “manufacturing past”. This attribute was revalued in order to put this “forgotten” neighborhood in the south on the “map” of large investors. In this sense, the market was a “sample” of the possible recovery of the past based on the needs of the present.
