Giovanna Brogi has been Professor of Slavic and Ukrainian Studies at the University of Milan. She is the author of many essays and of a book about Ukrainian literature and culture from the time of Baroque up to Taras Shevchenko. She is President of the Italian Association of Ukrainian Studies. Professor honoris causa of the Ivan Franko University of Lviv and of the Kyiv Mohilian University in Kyiv, she is a foreign member of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
