ENGLISH TITLE: Eating the Other. The Mediatization of Cultural Identities in Television Food Programs
ABSTRACT: The relationship between gastronomy and television only recently gave space to the exploration of the cuisines of the cultural “other”. Three main guests (Andrew Zimmern, Stefan Gates and Antony Bourdain), protagonists of different formats, are studied here in order to show how the cultural identity is treated in relationship to food, trying to create a link between different semiotic versions of identity elaboration and showing also the anthropological relevance of the mediatization offered by television.
