This guide is for those who have a great interest in algae whose role in the ecosystem and applicative importance are little known to most. A floristic list, updated to 2012, of the macroalgae of Ganzirri brackish pond in Cape Peloro Lagoon, along the northeastern coast of Sicily, is given. The list of species, displayed in cards with drawings and photos, is the result of a DNA barcoding–based study. The topics are supported by bibliography, combining scientific accuracy with a simple presentation friendly to both specialists and amateurs. A reading list for further discussions has been included.
