SINTESI
Almost 820 million people in the developing world do not have enough to eat, and another 34 million people in the industrialised countries and countries in transition also suffer from chronic food insecurity (Fao, 1999, 2006). The undernourished people in 2007/2008 exceeded 920 million because of shocks in the international prices of primary commodities and, successively, in the world financial crisis. In 1996, the World Food Summit set as a target a reduction by half in the number of undernourished people in the world by 2015. This aim is confirmed inside the Millenium Development Goals
