The acquisition of the facsimile manuscript of the Codice Corazza for the seat of Termoli of the University of Molise Library, is the occasion to consider the bibliographical, cultural and didactic importance of the anastatic and facsimile printings, preserved in the public libraries. The author delineates an historical description of the anastatic and facsimile terms and their great differences, from the middle nineteenth century Poe’s and Labriola’s considerations, until the contemporary digital technology use for the making of precious facsimiles, like illuminated manuscripts and books of hours.
