Nel contributo si intende proporre una interpretazione tematica della poesia italiana della prima metà del Novecento, a partire da un’ottica di genere. A una prima parte dedicata alla questione dell’identità nazionale, segue l’analisi di una serie di esperienze significative di poetesse quali Annie Vivanti, Ada Negri e Amalia Guglielminetti. Il saggio prende in esame la debolezza del mito identitario, ma anche la sua persistenza nella poesia italiana novecentesca.

This paper aims to provide a thematic interpretation of the Italian women’spoetry, in the period spanning from the 1890s to the 1920s. The first part, dedicated to the analysis of the issue of the Italian national identity in the twentieth century, is followed by a second part dedicated to the relations between poetry and history and to textual analyses of the works by three poets: Annie Vivanti, Ada Negri e Amalia Guglielminetti. The paper examines the weakness of the myth of national identity, but also the continuity of tradition in the italian poetry of this period.
