Abstract
Europe’s discredit, which has economic causes, gave rise to a new thrust of nationalist fever and to the temptation to settle back on restaured and largely made up national identities. New solidarities need to be invented, in order to take care of all those who were left behind by the political solutions to the European crisis. A close reading of L’autre cap provides the thread of the essay.
