This book is a guide for managers and practitioners to properly select the contract for coordinating a Supply Chain. It demonstrates that only a few contract types successfully achieve this target and provides several counterintuitive managerial insights on their real usability. The adoption of a comparative multiple case study approach within different industries has considerably helped identifying the most relevant contractual clauses. This book confirms that Supply Chain coordination is a difficult achievement and an ideal contract does not exist in principle; rather, it should be set adhoc for accommodating all heterogeneous business situations, market conditions and partnerships’ dynamics.
