SINTESI
This book aims at overcoming a gap between public management and economic development theories. It reconsiders the competitiveness theories taking into consideration the role played by government and by other related institution. The question is not if the government has a role but which role does it have. The government is not expected to create job but to create the right conditions for the companies to compete. The framework is that government creates wealth: it is called public value.
