This book is a high-statured academic work dedicated to the study of ancient oriental philosophy of the Far East centred around China. Lao-Tzu (570 BC-unknown) and Confucius (551-479 BC) were great philosophers of ancient China who lived at about the same time as Plato, Socrates and Aristotle. Unlike them though, Lao-Tzu and Confucius are comparatively not well-known in the West. Now, when China becomes the second largest economy in the world, the influencial impact of this most populous country in the world is becoming increasingly bigger.
