This book contains different analyses carried out in different areas, studying the role and function of farms to protect the rural space and in particular the role of farms located in inner areas and in highlands as tool to protect the environment and the landscape. The research showed an important function of Common Agricultural Policy to compensate farmers for living and protecting the rural space.Nicola Galluzzo, Ph.D. in Food Science, M.A. in Agricultural Sciences, is an agronomist and he attended the Master Agricultural Economics and Policy in Portici. He worked as young researcher at National Institute of Agricultural Economy (INEA). He is a member of European Association of Agricultural Economists, Italian Economists Society and International Association Agricultural Economists.
