In this book, innovation is conceived as an open path, continuous, widespread by different individuals seeking (seekers) or offering (solvers) solutions (ideas, concepts, family of output, platforms, architectures) and approximating configurations (endogenous, exogenous, network) with different complexity. The current frame of reference, validated by evidences in specific areas of made in Italy (lighting, braking systems, express coffee, green-building), reinforces a prevailing network-oriented approach. The emerging evidence make possible to propose an open coopetition model, that should be expression of contributions from operators that take, pro-tempore, different roles (generators, integrators, users, trendsetters) in the shared innovation governance.
