The book analyses some natural phenomena of great environmental and social impact, such as the Tsunami, the Hurricanes, and the fall of meteorites and some technological processes of strong economic and social impact, such as the electric Blackout and the electromagnetic pollution. It responds to some key questions related to human existence and its purpose, for example: the “Anthropic Principle”, “Is the universe finite or infinite?”; shown the technical characteristics and limitations of nuclear fission Reactors of Generation IV and those of nuclear fusion Reactors type Tokamak and highlight the problematic aspects of large works such as the Messina bridge and the pressure water pipes which are subjected to the “water hammer”.
