The study described in the book aims to analyse the phenomenon of smart working, as well as its role within the digital transformation process. The book starts with the description of principal drivers of the organisational change and digital transformation. Secondly, it presents a literature review on the digital transformation and analyses the main elements involved in this process within an organisation. Thirdly, the smart working concept, the smart working mix and its impact on the labour organisation and HRM practices are described. Finally, the experience of an Italian telco company is analysed with the purpose of exploring smart working implementation and its main characteristics.
