SINTESI
This work examines the economic conditions of dependent older adults and their families in order to investigate the existence of a relation between the state of dependency and the risk of falling into poverty. The book is structured in three parts. The first part addresses the recent reform processes that have interested the European long–term care sectors, looking at the relationship between national characteristics and family involvement in the care. The second part deepens the analysis of this relationship using a micro perspective. The last part confirms that private care resources and dependency condition constitute an increasing factor of risk of poverty.
