The present study emphasizes an aspect rarely examined by general linguistics: the linguistic contributions of German immigrants residing in the United States, specifically in Pennsylvania and in the Midwest. It also focuses on the significant economic, cultural, and political achievements the Germans have fulfilled in Northern America. In the political field, the author wished to pay homage to Henry Kissinger, the best known and most illustrious German American of the 20th century. In sum, this essay states that the merit of having transformed the United States into an extremely powerful nation strongly belongs to the German immigrants.
